Join us in Ghent, Belgium as a Staff Reliability Engineer to establish the foundations of preventive maintenance (PM) methodology and strategy. You will be the owner of PM, driving maximum effectiveness of maintenance reliability, in collaboration with the scheduler and facilities team.

You Will Be Responsible For
Facilities Asset Maintenance: Ensure adequate preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for all facilities assets, managing the asset list/register and asset history.
Work Management & Optimization: Drive implementation and continuous improvement of work management processes, including planning, scheduling, execution and tracking.
Facilities Compliance & Safety: Maintain adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols and environmental requirements.
Asset Technology & Data Integration: Utilize asset management technologies, including IoT-enabled assets, to enhance planning, reliability and data-driven decisions.
Maintenance Reliability & Fundamentals: Apply maintenance reliability principles (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA) to improve asset dependability and reduce downtime.
Leadership & Team Development: Collaborate with the scheduler and engineers, promote a proactive safety culture and support continuous learning; act as backup for the facilities manager.
System & Data Management: Operate and maintain CMMS to track asset performance, generate reports and support decision-making; ensure data quality in CMMS.
Budget & Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor KPIs for facilities and utilities; collaborate with Finance on depreciation planning.
Key Relationships: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the scheduler and mechanical/electrical engineers.
Qualifications / Requirements
Master's degree in engineering, architecture, life sciences, or equivalent experience; excellent technical knowledge.
8–10+ years facilities management experience in facilities, utilities and maintenance.
Experience in GxP and quality management.
Strong leadership and relationship-building skills; ability to work with teams.
Proven experience in facilities or maintenance management at an operational level.
Understanding of work management principles and CMMS systems; proficiency with IoT asset technologies.
Solid foundation in maintenance reliability practices.
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to work under tight timelines and peak loads.
Willingness to work long days/weeks during shutdowns.
Can-do mentality; highly communicative in Dutch and English (other languages are a plus).
