They are currently looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a dynamic, multi-site finance team and ensure robust financial stewardship. You will lead and oversee the full accounting operations across four legal entities. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a team of nine and ensure the financial processes are compliant, efficient, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
You will be based in Brussels or/and Ghent.

Strategic & Operational Leadership
* Translate departmental goals into actionable team objectives.
* Develop the annual accounting plan and budget; monitor progress and KPIs.
* Stay updated on financial and accounting regulations; ensure timely implementation.
* Lead or support the roll-out of new systems and process improvements.
Accounting Oversight
* Oversee general accounting for all the legal entities.
* Ensure accuracy and legal compliance in all accounting, tax, and payroll processes.
* Lead quarterly and year-end closings; prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors.
* Evaluate and improve accounting procedures; maintain documentation.
* Collaborate with international partners and internal stakeholders on accounting matters.
Team Management (People Leadership - 70% of the role)
* Manage and coordinate two teams across Brussels and Ghent.
* Allocate tasks and plan workloads based on team skills and organizational needs.
* Facilitate team meetings and foster team cohesion across locations.
* Serve as the main point of contact for internal collaboration and communication.
* Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for team members.
* Promote a constructive, respectful, and inclusive working environment.
Profiel
* Master's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, or business.
* Minimum 8-10 years of experience in accounting management, preferably in complex environments.
* Proven people management experience, including leading cross-site teams.
* Solid knowledge of Belgian GAAP and general accounting principles.
* Strong problem-solving skills; able to work in fast-paced, mission-driven settings.
* Fluent in Dutch and French (both mandatory for the position); English is a plus.
* Experience in the NGO, non-profit, or public sector is highly valued.
