Our client, a dynamic and growing player in the pharmaceutical sector, is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead and structure their accounting team during a period of transformation and growth.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Workflow Management : Supervise and support internal accounting staff (junior and senior). Reassign and structure workloads to ensure clear ownership across AP, AR, GL, and Audit. Lead daily stand-ups and weekly priority reviews, while fostering accountability and team alignment.
Month-End Closing & Reconciliations : Own and execute the monthly closing calendar. Prepare and review reconciliations (bank, AP, AR, payroll, intercompany), and ensure accurate, well-documented records to support audit and reporting requirements.
ERP Optimization : Identify and resolve system usage gaps. Collaborate with internal support teams to enhance reporting, streamline workflows, and improve overall system efficiency.
Process Mapping & Continuous Improvement: Review and document key finance processes. Identify quick wins for efficiency and control, and recommend longer-term structural improvements, such as role redesigns or permanent hires.
Audit Preparation : Support audit readiness by preparing key deliverables (trial balance, reconciliations, supporting documentation). Define roles and timelines for open items and manage requests from internal and external auditors.
Profile :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting operations, including team management
Strong knowledge of BEGAAP, IFRS, and general accounting principles
Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and high IT proficiency (Excel, reporting tools, etc.)
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams under pressure
Hands-on and proactive mindset: capable of both doing and delegating effectively
Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch is a strong plus
