POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr Market Access Manager will support the development and execution of Vertex’s Market Access strategy and key tactics in Belgium and Luxemburg. This includes on the one hand the preparation and development of the price & reimbursement dossiers for the entire portfolio, and on the other hand the support for aligning the portfolio access with local stakeholders needs.
The Sr Market Access Manager will report to the Director Market Access Belgium whom he/she will develop, execute and coordinate the market access strategy and relationships in close collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work closely with the Director Market Access and the local and international team to identify national specific opportunities and barriers to ensure access
* Collaborate with the cross-functional team (medical, legal, marketing to develop and implement decisions
* Monitor and analyze health policies and changes in the policies
* Ability to conduct resp. experience with analyses of sick fund data, pharmaco-economic analyses
* Existing network and experience in the negotiation resp. discussion with local payers and decision makers preferable
* Knowledge of hospital/out-patient care funding system in Belgium and Luxemburg
* Work closely with legal and regulatory departments to ensure compliance
* Ability/Flexibility to travel to take part in meetings at the corporate headquarter office or to meet stakeholders
* Exhibit ownership and accountability for all projects and internal assignments

Education
* University/master degree in Science, medical, or economics with experience in pharmaceutical and / or biotechnology industries with a focus on the Belgian and Luxemburg market
* Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, Belgian and Luxemburg healthcare system and healthcare policy
Skills and Experience
* Market access strategy and experience focused on innovative and orphan drugs, as ATMPs
* In-depth knowledge of current trends in regulation, pricing and reimbursement across Belgium and Luxemburg
* Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment along with demonstrated integrity on the job
* Ability to complete projects and achieve goals on time while delivering high quality results
* Outstanding customer relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross functionally
* Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data sets to determine trends and establish strategies
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Dutch +++, French and English) and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
* Must be adept at influence management and working under pressure
* Confidentiality skill
* Self-starter with the ability and desire to take on new challenges, to help build an organization and still be part of a team taking a hands-on approach to projects
* Results oriented and excellent analytical, strategic, business planning, communication, and teamwork/collaboration skills.
