Job Description
* Implement the maintenance strategy for facilities.
* Oversee and manage the equipment reliability process.
* Update and manage preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and calibrations:
o Regularly review and control maintenance and inspection plans based on criticality analysis, asset classification, and operational needs.
* Review and update maintenance/service contracts with OEMs and service providers.
* Monitor asset performance periodically, analyzing performance losses and assessing the effectiveness of maintenance strategies.
* Conduct regular reviews of maintenance costs to ensure compliance with the maintenance budget.
* Identify and evaluate issues ("bad actors") related to safety, reliability, availability, and maintenance costs.
* Assess spare parts management gaps and develop a spare parts management plan.
* Perform criticality analyses and classification of assets, FMEA studies, maintenance plans, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
* Collaborate with individuals across diverse backgrounds, including engineers, technicians, and operators, to foster a proactive reliability culture.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical and operational challenges, improving:
o Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
o Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) of critical equipment
* Develop and implement innovative reliability strategies and ideas.
* Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and serve as their backup when necessary.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Industrial).
* Training in reliability engineering and/or maintenance management.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
* Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Knowledge of maintenance contract management and spare parts management.
* Proficiency in maintenance methodologies such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
* Expertise in root cause analysis techniques (RCA).
* Strong knowledge of reliability tools and extensive understanding of equipment breakdowns.
* Excellent judgment for setting priorities.
* Results-oriented mindset.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure, solve complex challenges, provide support, and make decisive actions.
* Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Fluent in English and French.
