Overview
We are currently supporting an international organisation in Antwerp in the appointment of a Senior Accountant. This is a key role within the finance function, offering high visibility and ownership across core accounting, reporting, and compliance activities.
The successful candidate will play a central role in the month-end close process, statutory reporting, and audit coordination, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and manage the monthly close process, including payroll postings, accruals, and reconciliations
* Prepare and review statutory financial statements in line with local GAAP and IFRS
* Deliver accurate and timely external financial reporting
* Manage VAT declarations and support corporate tax filings
* Prepare and submit corporate and statutory returns
* Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors
* Liaise with internal teams and external finance stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
* Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP requirements
* Support year-end close and audit processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
* Operate effectively within Oracle ERP systems
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or statutory reporting role
* Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (US GAAP exposure is advantageous)
* Experience with European statutory and external reporting (French or Spanish GAAP is a plus)
* Solid understanding of VAT and tax compliance processes
* Experience working with external auditors and corporate stakeholders
* Strong systems skills, ideally including Oracle
* Advanced proficiency in Excel
* Fluent in English
* Able to work onsite in Antwerp three days per week
