To support the growth of our internal teams, BDO Belgium is looking for an Independence Risk Assistant. In this role, you will have an executive role for the timely and accurate execution of the Company’s Independence program requirements (Independence and Conflict of Interest checks), as part of the account & project acceptance cycle in the project set up process.

What will you be doing?
1. Analyse requests to open new accounts or project acceptances
2. Perform research on clients using available tools and information
3. Determine if a national or international COI check is required
4. Record findings in the project acceptance tool application
5. Assess potential independence issues and respond accordingly
6. Maintain and update accurate records and documentation in databases
7. Provide assistance to the team and other involved parties
8. Stay up-to-date with updates and changes of the COI 1 and COI 2 tools and independence rules
What do you bring to the table?
9. Strong communication skills in Dutch, French and English
10. Proficient of the Microsoft Office Suite
11. Thorough understanding of BDO’s regulated and non-regulated businesses
12. Skilled in negotiation and escalation with stakeholders across all functional levels
13. Ability to work independently and within a matrix organization utilizing shared resources
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
15. Sense of responsibility and confidentiality to complete tasks accurately and perform necessary follow-up
16. Eye for detail
