About the position:
We are looking for a Global Trade Compliance & Customs Manager to shape our international trade compliance at a strategic level. In this key role, you will develop and implement global standards and programs to ensure that all Heraeus Electro-Nite activities comply with export laws, sanctions policies, and customs regulations. You will be the driving force behind the compliance framework and a trusted advisor to management teams worldwide. You will report directly to the Head of Global Supply Chain Strategy.

Your role and responsibilities:
* Develop and implement uniform global trade compliance and export control processes in accordance with the framework established by the Heraeus Group.
* Align local practices with international regulations (e.g., EU Dual-Use Regulation, US EAR, UK export control regulations).
* Performing export control risk analyses for products, technologies, and markets.
* Monitoring and interpreting changes in trade legislation and advising management on the impact on the business.
* Optimizing import duties through correct classification and determination of origin of goods. Advising on customs regulations and ensuring compliance to mitigate financial and operational risks.
* Providing practical support and guidance to entities on export control, product classifications (ECCN, HS codes), licenses, and interpretation of regulations in collaboration with the SAP PDM team.
* Establishing and maintaining internal control programs, including screening of rejected shipments and end-use controls.
* Continuously seek improvements in export control and customs processes, including evaluating and implementing digital tools to improve efficiency, automation, and compliance monitoring.
* Ensuring that compliance and integrity are embedded in our way of working by strengthening policies, processes, and global awareness. Collaborating with other departments (supply chain, sales, R&D, legal, etc.) to integrate compliance into business processes
* Acting as a point of contact for the Heraeus Group's Global Trade Compliance team for export control and customs matters, and ensuring clear and consistent communication between all entities.
* Design and deliver training programs for Heraeus Electro-Nite employees.
* Conducting internal audits and preparing for external inspections, ensuring correct documentation.
What is required for this role:
* Thorough knowledge of international trade laws and regulatory frameworks.
* Certifications such as Certified Export Compliance Professional and ICC Incoterms are a plus.
* Experience at an industrial or technological multinational is preferred.
* Excellent communication and intercultural skills.
* Strong ability to build lasting and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
Additional information:
Required education and experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in law, international trade, business administration, or similar, with 7 to 10 years of experience in export control, trade compliance, or customs regulations
