Within this department, theOptimized AIteamfocuses on computing techniques to scaleupa wide range of AIapproachesand drive the SW-HW-Technology co-optimization.We analyze and implement AImodels and software architectures while investigating bottleneckswith the purpose ofsolvingthem at algorithmic, implementation and/or hardware level, in close collaboration withimec’sarchitecture and technology groups.

What you will do
* You explore newalgorithms/optimizationsfor customarchitecturesto enable SW-HW codesignand help shape our activities around this.
* Youunderstand and optimize performance ofvarious(local and distributed)AIand hybrid AIapplications,frameworks,algorithmsand libraries.
* Youguide andhelpdevelopmini-applicationsthat embodykeyAIworkloads by combining multiple underlying kernels and the key data communications between them.
* Youguideand helpanalysisand optimization ofthe performance ofmini-applicationsonbothexisting hardware and simulated novel hardwareand use the outcomes for further hardware/software explorations.
* You follow up on progress within research projects and are able tocommunicate the accomplished / in-process work to internal and external stakeholders and adaptdirectionswhere needed.

Who you are
* You have a PhD,preferablein ComputerScience, Engineering,Mathematics, or equivalent.
* You have a strong background with paralleland distributedprogrammingmodels andhigh-performancecomputing techniquesand machine learning models.
* Practical experienceintheprogrammingofhigh-performancecomputing of AI and/or scientific computingapplications or libraries.
* Strong background inalgorithmicoptimization techniqueslike quantization, pruning, and distributed training methodologies.
* You have experienceusingperformance analysis tools, and hardware optimization techniques.
* You have experience with modern Deep Learning Frameworks (PyTorch,Tensorflow, Jax)and proven ability of CUDA and Python programming.
* Knowledge of,or prior experience with,optimizingAI for AI Compute Architecturesis a plus.
* You are a team player and havestrong communicationskills.
* Your English is fluent, both speaking and writing.
