Senior Scientist – Drug Discovery (Neurology)

About the Role
We are recruiting a Senior Scientist to support our neurology drug discovery programmes. The position involves contributing to the design and execution of experiments aimed at identifying and validating new therapeutic targets for neurological diseases. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team advancing projects from early discovery through to preclinical development.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and optimise assays to support target validation and screening activities.
* Design and perform in vitro and ex vivo studies using relevant neurological models.
* Analyse and interpret experimental data to inform project direction.
* Collaborate with chemistry, pharmacology, and bioinformatics teams to progress small-molecule and biologic candidates.
* Prepare technical reports and contribute to internal and external presentations.
* Supervise or mentor junior scientists as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
* PhD (or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in academic or industry settings, with a focus on neurology or CNS research.
* Strong knowledge of neurobiology, neurodegeneration, or neuroinflammation.
* Experience with cell-based assays, primary neural cultures, or in vivo disease models.
* Familiarity with drug discovery workflows, including hit-to-lead and mechanism-of-action studies.
* Ability to communicate scientific results clearly in written and verbal formats.
