Job Title: Research Nurse Location: West Flanders, Belgium Type: Contract Start Date: ASAP
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Freelance Research Nurse to support clinical research projects across Belgium. Working closely with investigators, clinical teams, and sponsors, you will ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of clinical trial activities. This role is ideal for a research‑experienced nurse seeking flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute to impactful studies.
Key Responsibilities Perform clinical trial procedures, including: Venepuncture Cannulation ECG performance (no interpretation required) Injection administration Port‑a‑Cath access and de‑access Centrifuging and preparation of biological samples Conduct participant screening, enrolment, and follow‑up visits according to protocol. Monitor participant wellbeing, identify safety concerns, and report adverse events promptly. Administer investigational medicinal products (IMPs) as per study requirements.
Required Experience & Skills Registered Nurse qualification valid in Belgium. Minimum 3 years’ experience working on clinical research projects (phase I–IV). Strong working knowledge of GCP, clinical trial operations, and patient safety standards. Proven competency in one of: Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG performance, Injection administration, Port‑a‑Cath handling (access & de‑access), Centrifuge use and sample handling Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously and manage a flexible freelance schedule. Strong communication skills in English and at least one local language (Dutch or French).
