Senior Project Manager ERP/SAP

Overview
Ghent University is looking for a Senior Project Manager ERP/SAP to lead SAP Finance & Logistics initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. You will manage SAP project portfolios, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and drive ERP implementations and improvements across finance, procurement, logistics, and related business domains.
This role combines strategic project leadership, stakeholder management, and hands-on involvement in SAP processes and enterprise transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Lead SAP Finance & Logistics projects and programs from planning through delivery
* Manage project portfolios related to ERP, infrastructure, and application development
* Coordinate analysts, developers, architects, and business stakeholders
* Translate business needs into structured projects, work packages, and solution roadmaps
* Support SAP implementation, maintenance, and enhancement activities
* Perform process analysis and process modeling to improve operational efficiency
* Manage project governance including risks, timelines, issues, planning, and reporting
* Collaborate with finance and logistics domain managers to align solutions with organizational objectives
* Support agile transformation and organizational change initiatives
* Ensure effective communication and stakeholder alignment across all project phases
Required Experience
* 10+ years of experience managing SAP projects
* 5+ years of experience as a Program or Project Manager in infrastructure or development projects
* Strong experience with SAP Finance & Controlling
* Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
* Experience with ERP implementation lifecycles
* Experience with process analysis and modeling
* Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Prince2, PMBOK, Agile, Scrum, or MSP
* Knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Fluent Dutch (C2 level required)

* Hybrid work model with minimum 2 onsite days per week
