You will be working in a modern restaurant inside a newly built ultramodern event center, nestled between our three international hotels totaling 405 rooms. A unique location where locals, hotel guests, and event visitors come together.
Your Role
Help Set the Culinary Standard in a Brand-new Tuscan Restaurant in Ghent
Arno Ristorante will open its doors in October 2025 inside a brand-new, state-of-the-art event center. We are looking for an experienced Sous-chef to become the right hand of our Head Chef. We seek a passionate professional who loves Italian cuisine and blends taste, craftsmanship, and team spirit into every dish.
A Glimpse Behind the Scenes of Your Role
1. You support the Head Chef in developing and refreshing the menu, with a focus on seasonal products and Tuscan traditions.
2. You take charge of daily operations when the Chef is absent and ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
3. You coach and motivate the kitchen team, contributing to an open and professional work culture.
4. You monitor the quality of dishes, ensure hygiene regulations are followed, and maintain an efficient kitchen setup.
5. You collaborate closely with the Head Chef, Restaurant Manager, and the kitchen and service team to offer guests an exceptional culinary experience.
Who Are We Looking For?
6. You have at least 3 years of experience as a Sous-chef or Chef de Partie in a gourmet or fine-dining restaurant.
7. You are available full-time (38 hours) or at least 4/5, spread over 4–5 shifts from Monday to Sunday between 7 AM and 11 PM.
8. You have a passion for Italian cuisine – for you, Tuscany is more than just a holiday destination.
9. You are highly organized, work methodically, and have a keen eye for detail.
10. You are a team player who understands the importance of collaboration and communication in a professional kitchen.
11. You speak Dutch or English and can express yourself fluently in a professional setting.

Our location is easy to reach, wherever you're coming from. The event center and Arno Ristorante are located at Akkerhage 2B, 9000 Ghent, right off Exit 9 (U.Z. Gent) on the E17. Coming by car?
