Project Overview
A growing food & beverage manufacturer is launching multiple mechanical upgrade and expansion projects across its production facilities. To support detailed design and project execution, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Mechanical Engineer with strong SolidWorks expertise.
You will be involved in the design, modification and optimisation of production equipment within a hygienic processing environment.
Responsibilities
* Mechanical design and detailing in SolidWorks
* Development and modification of production line equipment (conveyors, filling systems, mixers, packaging equipment, etc.)
* Creation of 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings
* Support equipment installation and on-site modifications
* Collaborate with automation and electrical engineers
* Ensure designs comply with hygiene and food safety standards
* Participate in FAT / site implementation where required
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in food & beverage or FMCG manufacturing
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling + technical drawings mandatory)
* Experience designing production or process equipment
* Understanding of hygienic design principles (EHEDG, stainless steel fabrication, cleanability)
* Knowledge of machinery directive and CE compliance
* Ability to work independently in a project-based environment
Nice to have:
* Experience with layout design and plant modifications
* Knowledge of stainless steel structures and fabrication processes
* Previous experience supporting installation or commissioning

* Comfortable working in operational production environments
* Strong communication skills (Dutch and/or English required)
* Available to travel to site when necessary
