Job Title: Datacom Transmission Network Operator
Location: Belgium (on-site/hybrid, as applicable)
1 year contract

Key Responsibilities
1. Front Desk Operator Duties
* Mailbox and Call Management
* Receive and respond to incoming calls and emails
* Handle minor requests directly; forward complex issues to the relevant team or level
2. Network Supervision
* Monitor and interpret data and alarms from network management systems and nodes across technologies such as:
* PDH/SDH (NOKIA, Hitachi)
* DWDM (NOKIA)
* VOIP (Cisco)
* IP/MPLS (NOKIA)
* Substation LAN
* Ensure early detection of potential issues through proactive monitoring
3. Incident Management – Level 1
* Perform initial troubleshooting and event correlation
* Implement workarounds (e.g., path rerouting for PDH/SDH) where feasible
* Escalate incidents to appropriate internal teams (Level 2/3 or on-site technicians) when needed
4. Configuration & Change Management
* Act as a single point of contact for datacom-related requests from internal departments (e.g., Electrical Dispatching, IT Helpdesk, Asset Management)
* Coordinate and implement standard configuration changes and handle requests in collaboration with internal teams
* Maintain accurate documentation and logs for all requests and actions taken
Requirements
Technical Skills
* Experience with telecommunications network technologies:
* PDH / SDH / DWDM / MPLS / VOIP
* Familiarity with network supervision tools and alarm management systems
* Basic understanding of IP networking, LAN technologies, and datacenter interconnectivity
* Ability to manage and triage incidents quickly and effectively
