Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatician / Data Scientist to join our Clinical Science & Data Analytics team within the Clinical Development organisation. The successful candidate will work at the interface of data science and clinical science, integrating multi-omics, clinical, and real‑world datasets to generate actionable insights. A key responsibility will be supporting the development of novel exploratory and pharmacodynamic (PD) endpoints through advanced analytics, literature mining, and real‑world evidence (RWE).
Key Responsibilities
What will you do?
* Integrate clinical, molecular, RWE, and functional data to enable comprehensive analyses.
* Conduct systematic literature mining to conceptualize and refine new clinical, translational, and PD endpoints.
* Analyse and interpret high‑dimensional datasets (e.g., RNA‑seq, proteomics, genomics, imaging‑derived features).
* Integrate internal datasets with publicly available and external data sources.
* Collaborate closely with Biostatisticians, Translational Pharmacologists, Medical Directors and Clinical Biomarker Managers and IT managers to translate data into actionable insights.
* Generate clear visualizations, analyses, and reports for cross‑functional teams, governance boards, and regulatory‑facing documents.
* Support the creation of protocols, statistical analysis plans, and publications.
* Ensure data quality, reproducibility, documentation, and compliance with data governance standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Who are you?
* You have an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Biostatistics, or related field.
* You bring 10+ years of experience in Bioinformatics/Data science within biotech or pharma, with a strong emphasis on small‑molecule drug development.
* You have a strong experience working with omics datasets and high‑throughput biological data.
* You are proficient with statistical tools and programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS.
* You have experience creating data visualizations using appropriate libraries or tools (e.g. ggplot2, Shiny, Spotfire, dashboards).
* You have a basic understanding of data security, access control, and regulatory requirements for biological and clinical data.
* You have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail.
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast‑paced, multidisciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of machine learning methods applied to biological data is an advantage.
* Knowledge of fibrosis, immunology, inflammation, or related therapeutic areas is an advantage.
* Experience with imaging biomarkers is a plus.
* You communicate fluently in English; additional languages are a plus.
