Mission Overview:
Join Keystone Solutions as a Functional Analyst (Consultant) for a consultancy mission at our client, the largest Belgian insurer by market share. As a Keystone Solutions consultant, you will work on-site with the clients Information Systems Life division, contributing to the analysis, design, and delivery of robust IT applications for life insurance processes. You will translate high-level business requirements into functional and technical designs, follow up on implementation, and participate in testing within a multidisciplinary environment spanning COBOL and .NET.
Consultancy Model at Keystone Solutions:
* This is a consultancy role delivered by Keystone Solutions at the client site, working closely with business, IS, and testing teams.
* As a Keystone Solutions consultant, you will integrate with the clients teams while being supported by Keystone Solutions community, mentorship, and best practices.
* You will operate under Keystone Solutions consultancy framework, aligning scope and milestones with the clients IS Project Manager and reporting progress to client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Translate high-level business requirements into structured IT solutions with a functional approach.
* Help translate functional designs into well-tailored technical designs covering user interface, business logic, and database architecture.
* Prepare functional integration test cases based on the requirements and test the product before delivery to users.
* Analyze potential corrective actions to be taken and coordinate technical designers and programmers during implementation of functionalities.
* Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure the final solution fits their needs and actively support Project Leaders in project implementation.
* Contribute to applications for subscribing new contracts and initiating modifications on existing contracts; managing the complete contract portfolio; handling tariffs, management acts, funds and reserves calculations; daily money-in (premiums) and money-out (claims and settlements).
* Interact with core applications developed using COBOL under Micro Focus and SQL databases, alongside distributed technologies including C#/.NET, APIs for front-end, and printing or communication components towards brokers and banks.
* Look into code when needed and generate SQL on demand.
* Operate primarily as an analyst while supporting .NET setup and component development follow-up.
* Plan your own work respecting deadlines and budget, and handle punctual stress situations effectively.
Team and Working Environment:
* Multidisciplinary environment (COBOL and .NET) with approximately 15 people in the team.
* Cross-functional team scope includes document printing and setting up tools for reporting.
* Team Day: Monday; a second team day to be determined.
* Dynamic, innovative context with up to 3 projects at the same time, requiring strong organizational skills.
Project Details:
* Start date: ASAP
* Duration: 12 months, with potential extension depending on project evolution.
* Level: Medior/Senior; immediate operational readiness is important.
Languages:
* French: Fluent (required).

* Dutch: A plus.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Business experience (mandatory): Insurance or banking domain, Senior (5–8 years). Preferable: Life Insurance; designing user interfaces; subscription processes; contract management.
* Functional experience (mandatory): Functional analysis (Senior, 5–8 years); IT solution design on large-scale projects (Senior, 5–8 years). Preferable: Agile and Waterfall project methodology.
* Technical experience (mandatory):
o Experience with application development of business systems in an IT department (Senior, 5–8 years).
o Able to capture main topics in discussions with technical IT people (Senior, 5–8 years).
o Mastering MS Office tools (Senior, 5–8 years).
o Hands-on experience in designing or following up on development of .NET components and web services (Senior, 5–8 years).
* Technical experience (preferable): Web-based client/server systems with Micro Focus COBOL back-end and SQL Server; batch process experience; COBOL Micro Focus/SQL Server programming experience; .NET and SQL; experience with REST/SOAP service design and interactions in .NET environments; familiarity with Visual Studio, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices supporting .NET development.
* Soft skills (mandatory): Pragmatic and solution-oriented; methodical, analytical, and proactive; good communication skills; quick learner; proactive and flexible; client-oriented; able to deal with punctual stress situations; able to plan own work with respect to deadlines and budget.
* Soft skills (preferable): Ability to interact with all technical and non-technical members of the organization; creative; dynamic.
Education:
* Master or Engineer in IT or a scientific domain with IT interest; or proven 5+ years of experience as Functional Designer in a similar domain.
* Alternatively, Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical analysis.
Role-Specific Notes:
* Focus on functional analysis with the ability to read code and produce SQL when required.
* Expected to be immediately operational and primarily act as an analyst while supporting the implementation of .NET.
