Project Manager – Substation (HV/MV) – Mons, Belgium
As part of an exciting company expansion project, Designer Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major substation supporting a new Data Centre development in Mons, Belgium. This is a high-profile project that requires proven expertise in high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical systems and substation construction.

The Project Manager will have full responsibility for delivering the substation project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and manage all aspects of the build, including design coordination, procurement, contractor management, commissioning, and handover. Oversee all substation-related construction activities, ensuring compliance with HV/MV industry standards and best practices.
Manage the design development process, including coordination with electrical engineers and HV/MV specialists.
Drive project scheduling, budget control, and commercial management in collaboration with the Project QS.
Manage procurement of HV/MV equipment, switchgear, transformers, and associated systems.
Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and reporting to senior management.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and energisation of HV/MV systems.
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with the client, supply chain, and internal teams.
Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a Project Management role within the M&E or power infrastructure sector.
Proven track record delivering substation projects and HV/MV installations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
Ability to work in Belgium, with fluency in English (French is an advantage).
