Job Description
The Legal and Compliance Counsel EMEA & LATAM will drive the implementation of the Global Compliance Program across EMEA and LATAM, providing strategic legal support under the guidance of the Director Ethics, Compliance & Legal.
Responsibilities
Ethics & Compliance
* Support International Compliance Oversight Committee and Ethics & Compliance meetings; enhance processes; promote Ethics & Compliance Culture; implement regional ethics and compliance programs.
* Advise business teams on Ethics & Compliance matters; participate in leadership meetings.
* Support risk assessments; develop tools; provide training on risk management.
* Draft, implement, and communicate compliance policies and procedures.
* Manage programs according to annual plans and KPIs.
* Ensure compliance with privacy laws; support Data Privacy Officer.
* Implement training and communication plans; develop key communications and conduct additional training as needed.
* Assist in monitoring, auditing, and investigations; support activities including field audits.
* Support third-party compliance management, including risk assessments and site visits.
* Conduct investigations; review documentation; interview; draft reports; ensure proper investigative processes.
* Implement corrective actions; assess their effectiveness.
Legal Responsibilities
* Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.
* Manage legal entities and corporate matters.
* Provide counsel on disputes and litigation.
* Review marketing and product claims; advise HR on employment matters; liaise with government agencies; manage outside counsel; support legal services for a global medical device company.
* Lead legal initiatives and cross-functional projects.
The Successful Applicant
* Law degree; additional training in healthcare compliance or privacy preferred.
* 5-8 years' experience in healthcare compliance or legal roles within medical device, pharmaceutical, or related sectors.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish required.
* Strong advisory skills; experience in EMEA; problem-solving skills for complex ethical and legal issues.
* Excellent research, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
* Organized with strong time management; ability to handle multiple priorities.
