To support our Technical Transformation Team, we are currently looking for an R&D Development Technician who thrives in a hands-on, experimental environment and enjoys turning ideas into scalable food solutions.
Responsibilities
You support the development of new products and the application of new technologies, working closely with the Technical Category Leader and other project managers.
You coordinate and execute industrial trials, acting as the key link between R&D, the factory, and external partners.
You prepare and run kitchen prototypes, translating ideas into testable and scalable product solutions.
You build and maintain strong knowledge of industrial production processes.
You collaborate with external research centers and analytical laboratories to support development activities.
You manage raw material stocks, R&D spaces, and logistics related to trials, samples, and materials for local and remote projects.
You handle project-related administration, including purchase orders, expense tracking, and reporting.
You take ownership of specific projects or project phases, aligned with and supervised by the Category Leader.

Who are you
You hold a Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
You have at least 2–3 years of experience in product development or industrial processing (food, pharma, or similar).
You have a strong passion for food, industrial processes, and hands-on experimentation.
You are familiar with thermal processes, sterilization, and industrial food transformation. Knowledge of fermentation processes is a plus.
You have a pragmatic, “do-things” mindset and enjoy working in complex, less predictable environments.
You communicate clearly, work well across teams, and are comfortable in an international context.
You are fluent in English. Dutch is a plus.
You will be based in Puurs and are open to frequent travel across Europe (60%).
