We are currently seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee and coordinate complex software delivery cycles across multiple development teams and digital platforms.
The role focuses on planning, orchestrating and supervising software releases in a DevOps-driven environment, ensuring smooth deployments, high-quality delivery standards, and strong collaboration between development, QA, operations and business stakeholders.
The Release Manager will play a key role in optimizing CI/CD pipelines, managing release governance processes, coordinating environments and ensuring operational readiness, while supporting continuous improvement of delivery practices within a prestigious European Institution in Brussels. 🔐🇪🇺
🖥️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plan and coordinate release schedules across multiple development teams and product lines.
* Manage release pipelines, deployment automation, and environment coordination.
* Facilitate communication between development, QA, operations, and business stakeholders.
* Oversee testing phases, quality gates, and release readiness assessments.
* Coordinate rollback procedures and incident response during deployment issues.
* Maintain release documentation and continuously improve release management processes.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
* Analyse release metrics and drive improvements in delivery efficiency and reliability.
🛠️ MAIN ACTIVITIES:
* Support the implementation of software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
* Prepare releases by aligning scope, schedules and involved stakeholders.
* Define rollback criteria and deployment contingency plans.
* Monitor project progress and intervene when needed to resolve issues with project managers and stakeholders.
* Communicate release checkpoints during sprint cycles (increment cut-off, testing start and completion).
* Resolve and escalate impediments, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement at programme level.
* Ensure strong focus on customer experience through performance testing and monitoring
📝 REQUIREMENTS:
* Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevOps principles.
* Strong experience with modern CI/CD practices and release management frameworks.
* Hands-on experience with release orchestration tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Azure/AWS DevOps.
* Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and issue tracking tools such as Jira.
* Ability to coordinate multiple teams in complex and international environments.
* Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
* Fluency in English
