Position Summary:
The Commercial Finance department plays a pivotal role in PSG by partnering with departments across the entire organization to help protect our profitability while delivering winning value to our customers. Our team supports PSG's commercial lifecycle management, from a request for proposal to contract modification, ensuring competitive and creative pricing on time and within policy.
Being an essential part of the Pharma Services Group (PSG) Pricing Team, this position works closely with management to model, analyze, and support or participate in pricing negotiations with internal team members and customers.
This role is well suited for an individual with a passion for deal modeling, a desire to support the Commercial Sales Organization and engage directly with customers. This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to think creatively and develop tailored solutions and deal constructs that drive revenue and improved profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate, develop, and support global pricing strategy and implementation for PSG
Financial modeling of expectant volume gains, cash flows, and margin impact for various strategies and businesses
Develop future pricing strategy to better position our services to enable organic growth and margin expansion
Participate in the RFP process and develop accurate price grids for existing and new customers
Effectively communicate and train teams on any new pricing tools, formats, guidelines, policies, or strategies
Develop pricing models to reliably measure changes during dynamic customer negotiations
Work across cross-functional teams to develop strong pricing and negotiation strategies, protecting profitability while delivering value to our customers
Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned
Assist with analyzing profitability metrics and ensuring approval compliance
Ability to review, understand, and edit complex legal documents, and interpret potential risks or impacts to deal financials or successful execution.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or another relevant background
At least 2 years of related work experience
Previous experience with quoting and knowledge of pricing within a related business or industry (at least 1 year)
Previous pricing experience and knowledge of the clinical trials' market is an advantage
Qualification Requirements:
High-level analytical capabilities
High proficiency in using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Salesforce
Consistent track record of successful individual and team process improvement actions
Self-starter attitude with initiative and motivation to accomplish tasks independently
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, and the capacity to prioritize multiple projects while working independently and across matrixed teams.
Ability to formulate strategies that consider customer budgets, previous award behaviors, available competitor information, and competitor pricing strategies
Ability to present to senior managers concisely and accurately, providing them the information needed to make quick and informed decisions
