We are looking for a Digital Technology Lead - Solution & Programs who is passionate, collaborative, and curious to join our Digital Technology for Patient Solutions (DTPS) team, based in our Braine l’Alleud in Belgium.
About the role
You will join DTPS, the IT group dedicated to Research and Early Development, to drive the modernization, integration, and optimization of laboratory technology ecosystems across Research & Early Development. As research becomes increasingly technology‑driven, you will support laboratory digitalization, automation, and AI‑enabled operations. Acting as a hybrid technical and business contributor, you will lead business analysis, process engineering, system implementation, and end‑to‑end project delivery. Your work will strengthen operational resilience, increase efficiency, and support strategic Digital Technology objectives in laboratory environments.
Who you’ll work with
You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary, international environment with scientists, laboratory end users, and operations teams. You’ll work closely with digital, data, and architecture teams, and external technology vendors. As part of the broader DTPS and IT community, you will act as a key connector between science, operations, and technology.
What you’ll do
1. Analyze, redesign, and optimize laboratory workflows, translating scientific and operational needs into functional and technical requirements
2. Lead or support mid‑size projects delivering laboratory systems, automation, and digital capabilities from planning through implementation
3. Act as IT System Owner for designated laboratory systems, ensuring lifecycle management, compliance, documentation, and audit readiness
4. Ensure system reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity alignment, and integration with scientific workflows
5. Support integration of automation, robotics, and AI‑enabled technologies within laboratory environments
6. Contribute to business cases, standardization, and continuous improvement of laboratory digital ecosystems
What we’re looking for
7. Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent in a scientific, engineering, automation, or digital discipline
8. 3+ years’ experience delivering digital technology, automation, or laboratory system projects
9. Demonstrated experience in business analysis, process design, or scientific workflow optimization
10. Strong understanding of laboratory environments, data flows, and instrument integration
11. Proven project management, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
12. Curiosity for emerging technologies, particularly automation and AI in scientific contexts
