About the Role
Our client is seeking a freelance ICT Expert Angular/Java to drive the development of mission-critical applications for the public sector. This is a 13-month freelance engagement based in Brussels, Belgium, with the potential for annual renewal. You'll be at the heart of digital transformation, building robust, scalable solutions that directly impact infrastructure and mobility across the region.

What You'll Be Doing
Lead the end-to-end development of Java/Angular applications, ensuring high performance and maintainability
Collaborate closely with users and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, automated testing, and integration
Work independently within a SCRUM team, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Engage in technical discussions and peer reviews to continuously improve the codebase
Champion the use of micro frontends and web components for scalable, modular architectures
Ensure seamless integration with RESTful web services and backend systems
Contribute to the deployment and orchestration of applications using Kubernetes
Deliver solutions that meet the rigorous standards of public sector environments
Technical Skills
Expert-level proficiency in Angular (minimum 8 years' experience)
Deep experience with Java and the Spring framework (minimum 8 years)
Advanced knowledge of Hibernate ORM (minimum 8 years)
Strong background in RESTful web services (minimum 8 years)
Hands-on experience with web components and micro frontends (minimum 5 years)
Proven ability in automated code and integration testing (minimum 5 years)
Solid experience with Kubernetes (minimum 5 years)
Demonstrated experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams (minimum 8 years)
Experience delivering solutions for government or public sector clients (minimum 3 years)
Language Proficiency
Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory
