Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Process Aids Procurement Category Manager to join our Internal Manufacturing Procurement team, supporting UCB’s Patient Supply organisation, based in Braine-L'alleud, Belgium.
About the Role
As Process Aids Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for a defined Patient Supply spend area and play a critical role in ensuring continuity of patient supply across UCB’s manufacturing network. You will design and execute end‑to‑end sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and drive value creation across quality, cost, resilience, and sustainability.
Working closely with stakeholders across Patient Supply, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, Sustainability, and Risk, you will act as a strategic bridge between development activities and commercial production, ensuring procurement priorities and supply readiness are aligned across the full product lifecycle.
Who You’ll Work With
You will report to the Category Lead and collaborate across a broad cross‑functional network including Patient Supply, Global Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Legal, Sustainability, Risk, and key external suppliers. You will also contribute to Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities and long‑term category development initiatives.
What You’ll Do
1. Develop and execute category sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity, service excellence, and long‑term value creation.
2. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and tenders, ensuring robust stakeholder engagement and fact‑based supplier selection.
3. Provide market intelligence by monitoring supplier markets, benchmarking, and identifying new partnership opportunities.
4. Drive commercial excellence through negotiations and the development and management of master agreements.
5. Build and maintain strong, value‑driven partnerships with strategic suppliers.
6. Prepare and present clear business cases, including financial, risk, and make‑versus‑buy analyses where required.
7. Apply structured risk‑assessment frameworks and embed mitigation measures into commercial agreements.
8. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and GxP requirements.
9. Act as a role model for integrity, compliance, and UCB’s core values.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for:
10. Degree‑level education (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in business, science, engineering, or a related field.
11. Experience in procurement or category management within a regulated manufacturing or life‑sciences environment.
12. Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex supplier agreements.
13. Ability to work effectively in a global, cross‑functional, and multicultural environment.
14. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to work autonomously.
Are you ready to ‘go beyond’ to create value and make your mark for patients? If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!
