Our businesses are located worldwide, with manufacturing, research and development centers located throughout Europe, the U.S., and Canada. /p pThe Director of Trade Compliance – Teledyne Imaging will play a key role in managing the trade compliance program for important Teledyne businesses worldwide. The role will serve as the primary trade compliance liaison with executive leadership for Teledyne Imaging businesses, drive the implementation of trade compliance policies and strategically guide and operationally support the businesses in their trade compliance. Proficiency in European, U.S. and Canadian dual-use and military controls is necessary, along with familiarity with other export laws in countries in which Teledyne does business. The role requires daily guidance, management, and mentorship of compliance personnel and high business acumen, active engagement and forward-thinking involvement in the business. This unique opportunity is part of our strategic plan to make compliance at Teledyne a strategic advantage. /p h3Primary Responsibilities /h3 ul liEnhance and maintain trade compliance management systems, policies, and department procedures and work instructions. /li liProvide guidance regarding European, U.S., and Canadian trade compliance regulatory requirements. /li liSpearhead and provide oversight for all export compliance requirements for designated Teledyne businesses, including export licensing, sanctions, jurisdiction and classification, applicable customs regulations, electronic technology transfers and access restrictions, recordkeeping requirements, and compliance with corporate policy and regulatory requirements. /li liTrain, mentor and supervise other export compliance personnel throughout designated Teledyne businesses to provide capability for completion of transactional export and import compliance requirements. /li liRegularly communicate with business leaders across the business to enhance trade compliance while enabling efficient business operations. /li liInform business leaders and trade compliance management of statutory or regulatory changes in trade compliance. /li liImplement standard practices and training programs that align with corporate trade compliance program requirements. /li liCoordinate with the Teledyne Corporate International Trade Compliance Team (CITC) on responses to government inquiries on import and export matters, as well as internal investigations and voluntary disclosures related to trade compliance matters. /li liProactively identify risks and compliance challenges that may arise and develop and monitor metrics and Key performance Indicators (KPI')s to monitor the overall health of trade activities. /li liManage audits, comprehensive investigations, disclosures, root cause and corrective action evaluation and implementation and continuous improvement and program management across the businesses. /li liResponsible for working as a liaison between operations including but not limited to Contracts, Business Development, HR, Engineering and trade compliance functions such as Customs and Licensing when necessary. /li liCoordinate across Teledyne Digital Imaging sites on trade matters to establish unified best practices and procedures. /li liLead trade compliance-related process improvement initiatives. /li liOther duties as assigned by the Chief Trade Compliance Counsel. /li /ul h3Job Qualifications /h3 ul liUniversity bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred. /li liProven relevant experience in aerospace, electro-optical and infrared technologies, semiconductor, high technology, or related industries. /li liAbility to perform and review jurisdiction and classification, review and approve contracts, assist with licensing and adapt trade compliance laws and regulations into business processes while driving compliance requirements in functional areas of the business. /li liExpert in European dual-use controls and military controls, strong familiarity with the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) Sanctions, Canadian trade laws, and Multilateral Control Regimes. /li liDemonstrated capability and experience with leading, developing, and mentoring teams of trade compliance professionals and to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. /li liStrong management and program management skills with a willingness to engage with different departments of the business, create new ideas, and be assertive. /li liConstructively work under pressure when faced with multiple deadlines and workloads and to make sound and timely business decisions. /li liAble to work without supervision and constructively with minimal supervision. /li liStrong time management, organizational and program management skills. /li liReputation for, and absolute commitment to, integrity and professionalism. /li liExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong presentation skills. /li liProficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint). /li liPrior experience with SAP, OCR, GTS and Conga. /li liKnowledge of customs laws and regulations is a plus. /li liTravel up to 25% domestically and internationally. /li /ul pThis position may require access to export-controlled information or items (e.g., regulated technology or technical data per ITAR/EAR US regulations).
