Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring execution according to design, schedule, and safety standards
* Coordinate contractors managing interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping disciplines
* Ensure compliance with QEHS standards, Belgian and EU regulations; conduct audits, enforce safety protocols, and manage permits
* Monitor progress and budget, track costs, manage change orders, and report variances
* Oversee quality assurance, inspections, and compliance with specifications and ISO standards
* Communicate regularly with Engineering, Project Director, and key stakeholders
* Collaborate with Umicore discipline leads, commissioning teams, and site operations
Requirements
* Master's or bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering
* Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction
* Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical projects
* Proven track record managing projects > €100M
* Strong knowledge of construction management principles
* Familiarity with Belgian building codes, Seveso directives, and EU safety standards
* Proficiency in project planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project)
* Experience with piping is a strong asset
