Job Description

You are a brand lover. You want to be in the driving seat and to impact. We’re looking for a Category Development Specialist (= Promo & Trade Marketing Specialist). You will be part of our Sales team based in Brussels and will report to the Shopper & Customer Marketing Manager.

Your main responsibilities:

1. You develop the yearly promotional plan on brand & segment level. Align with all parties involved (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Field, Supply Chain and finally present the proposed yearly promo plan for approval to the Management Team.
2. You lead the full promo process: from strategy recommendations, planning construction, execution, POS material creation (together with the Shopper Activation Specialist), post-evaluation and promo budget management (together with Finance).
3. You drive efficiencies in dashboarding or post-evaluation tools as well as advising Sales team. You co-create tools to grow financial acumen within Sales to better track & understand how we can optimize our promotional investments.
4. You act as a highly collaborative liaison between Brand Marketing, Sales and customers to facilitate integration of all marketing and trade initiatives to ensure a cohesive marketing plan. You assess launch success & prepare closing report for major launches.
5. You will be the lead in developing (together with Media & Customer team) & coordinating implementation (together with the Shopper Activation Specialist) of our retail media plan (media opportunities closed to stores commercialized by the retailers). You will be the contact point with the regie media of our main customers.
6. You are putting in place, executing and improving processes to link all Marketing activities with the activities of the Sales team. Consult both internally and externally to gain information and insights, as well as achieve results that are aligned with corporate and functional objectives.
7. You support the selling process in conjunction with Marketing and Sales, including all sales communications and materials, coordinating timelines for deliverables across multiple functions to ensure Sales team is fully equipped for successful sell-in.

For this role we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

8. You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience)
9. You have experience in FMCG
10. You possess strong analytical skills and high accuracy, you are strong in Excel & dashboard creation – it’s a plus if you have knowledge of NielsenIQ and GFK data.
11. You have good financial acumen and the ability to explain financials in a simple way to your colleagues
12. You are results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivating profile. You have attention to detail and you are tenacious and resilient
13. You have experience in project management against set deliverables & have the ability to prioritize and organize workloads independently when required
14. You are a flexible thinker and you are able to operate in a changing environment and cope with complexity
15. You have the ability to problem solve and ‘make things happen’
16. You have excellent communication skills and are a natural talent in building of (long term) work relationships
17. You are fluent in Dutch / French / English
