Our client is a Belgian medium size company that is a leading provider of innovative solutions & systems for the aerospace industry. As it is pursuing its international development and set to penetrate new markets offering strong business opportunities, the company is looking today to recruit a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Position
Reporting to the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Committee, the CCO will play a crucial role in driving business growth and revenue. He/She will be responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives. This will cover the following activities:
* Strategic planning and goal setting
* Marketing strategy
* Team leadership and management, including hiring, training and mentoring a sales and marketing team of 6 to 8 people.
* Budget management and resource allocation
* Market research and analysis
* Bid & contract management
* Product and service development.
Candidate profile
* Master degree in business/commercial management, or in engineering with additional education in business management.
* Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in sales and marketing, of which at least 8 years in a management role and as part of an executive team, reflecting a successful track record in driving revenue growth, leading commercial teams, and developing effective sales & marketing strategies.
* Experience gained most preferably in the aerospace industry or in a related sector (defense, security, …), or possibly in other high-tech B2B environment and including necessarily a proven track record in selling solutions to international and public institutions.
* Excellent sales, business development and networking skills, with the ability to develop partnerships and build long-term relations with a broad variety of customer profiles.
* Solid combination of strategic, tactical, operational and team management skills.
* Open-minded, assertive and poised personality with strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* High level of integrity, reliability and team spirit.
* Fluency in French and English is a must. A good knowledge of Dutch is desired, other languages will be a plus.
* Candidate prepared to ensure presence at the company offices in Belgium and to travel regularly (mainly Europe).
