Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain the overall system architecture for the Joint Common Operational Picture solution.
Translate operational needs and stakeholder requirements into technical architecture and system design.
Ensure interoperability across multi-domain command and control, sensor, communication, and information systems.
Specify architecture principles, design rules, interfaces, and integration patterns.
Support the development of data models, information exchange mechanisms, and service-oriented architectures.
Contribute to requirements engineering, functional analysis, and system decomposition.
Ensure compliance with applicable defence, security, and interoperability standards.
Guide technical trade-off studies and architectural decisions covering performance, security, resilience, and scalability.
Work closely with software, integration, cybersecurity, IVVQ, and operational teams throughout the lifecycle.
Support solution integration across land, air, naval, cyber, space (but not limited to) and joint operational environments.
Participate in customer workshops, technical reviews, design authorities, and architecture boards.
Contribute to technical risk management and mitigation planning.
Produce and maintain architectural documentation, interface control documents, and design baselines.
Required Qualifications And Experience
Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Proven experience as a System Architect, Solution Architect, or Lead Systems Engineer in complex defence, security, or mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of command and control systems, operational information systems, or situational awareness platforms.
Experience in architecting systems-of-systems and integrating distributed, heterogeneous solutions.
Good understanding of:
Systems engineering lifecycle
Operational and technical architecture frameworks
Interface definition and integration
Real-time or near-real-time data processing
Secure and resilient system design
Familiarity with interoperability standards and protocols used in defence environments.
Experience working in multi-stakeholder environments involving customers, partners, and subcontractors.
Strong analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines as well as in a very changeable environment and context
Ability to obtain or hold relevant security clearance.
Desirable Skills
Experience with JCOP/COP, C4ISR, Battle Management Systems, or joint operational environments.
Operational experience (direct or closely related)
Knowledge of defence architecture frameworks such as NAF, MODAF, DODAF, or TOGAF.
Familiarity with military interoperability standards such as:
NATO standards
Tactical data links
Message exchange standards
Geospatial and track management standards
Understanding of cloud, edge, and hybrid deployment architectures in secure environments.
Knowledge of cybersecurity-by-design principles.
Experience with modelling tools such as Capella, Enterprise Architect, or similar.
Experience in Agile and hybrid delivery environments. xphnsxz
