The position will be located between our 2 plants - Zolder (BE) & Eijsden (NL)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Plant Controller will oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, financial control, financial and management reporting, variance analysis, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting for our plants located in Zolder (BE) & Eijsden (NL).
Additionally, he/she will maintain close collaboration with the finance team of the Interco sales entity based in Belgium.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Oversee Management Accounting:
Responsible for management accounting activities for our plant in Angleur.
* Lead Month-End Closing:
Coordinate the month-end closing process, ensuring timely completion and compliance with the monthly closing schedule and quality standards.
* Collaborate on Budgeting and Reporting:
Partner with the Plant Manager and Finance Director Europe in preparing budgets, forecasts, monthly reports, and KPIs. Support the Plant Manager and internal stakeholders by providing guidance on results and performance.
* Perform Financial Analysis:
Conduct ad hoc analyses, including purchase price break-even, client profitability, and metal balance. Manage capex requests (including payback calculations) and track investment performance.
* Drive Profitability Improvements:
Identify challenges and opportunities to enhance profitability and recommend actionable solutions.
* Manage Reporting and Cost Analysis:
Oversee monthly closing activities, including EBITDA reporting, and conduct detailed cost analyses.
* Lead Strategic Projects:
Manage key initiatives such as the implementation of management cost accounting (Excel-based), changes to legal structures and their SAP impact, incorporation of new legal entities (like the Zano business), and related tax and transfer pricing considerations.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of SAP and reporting tools (such as Sigma Reporting) is a strong advantage.
* Analytical & Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and strong analytical abilities.
* Communication:
Fluent in English and Dutch, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in French is a plus.
* Team Player:
Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a strong sense of diligence and accountability.
* Hands-On & Multitasking Ability:
Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently while staying focused and results driven.
* Stakeholder Management:
Proven ability to manage and engage with diverse stakeholders, preferably with experience in a matrix organization and exposure to Private Equity environments.
REPORTING LINE
* The Finance Manager reports hierarchically to the Plant Manager of Eijsden/Zolder and functionally to the EU Finance Director.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of 5 years in a Financial Controlling or Accounting role within the industry. Prior experience in audit is a plus.
* Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
