EDGX is a fast-growing Belgian spacetech company defining the compute layer of the space economy. We're building the technology that enables intelligent, connected satellites, transforming spacecraft into flexible infrastructure. Our mission is to make that future possible by developing the technologies that unlock compute services in space. As Mission & Systems Engineer, you take our computers to orbit. Today, that means owning the system engineering for our in-orbit demonstration missions end-to-end, from mission planning and requirements through integration, launch, and operations. Tomorrow, it means something bigger: architecting turnkey processing solutions that combine our hardware with commercial subsystems, flying them as hosted payloads across a range of platforms, and building out EDGX's compute-as-a-service infrastructure in orbit.
Missions: Own the system engineering for our missions end-to-end. Requirements & Interface Management: Derive system-level requirements from mission objectives, manage interfaces with spacecraft bus or platform providers, and maintain interface control documents. Ensure our payload meets their mechanical, electrical, thermal, and data interface requirements.Mission Operations: Define and execute operational procedures: command sequences, data downlink plans, health monitoring, and contingency procedures. Support early operations, anomaly investigation, performance monitoring, and OTA software updates. You have several years of experience in space systems engineering. You've worked on real missions (whether as a systems engineer, payload engineer, or in a related role) and you understand the full mission lifecycle from requirements through operations. You're comfortable managing requirements traceability and working across electrical, mechanical, software, and thermal disciplines. If you haven't done it yet, you should be eager to own it.You want to be part of building orbital datacenter infrastructure.Languages: English proficiency is mandatory. A second language (Dutch, German, French, etc.) What's in it for youYou'll take real hardware to orbit and operate it.Build Orbital Infrastructure: Help shape EDGX's long-term vision of deploying compute infrastructure across LEO.International Exposure: Work with satellite operators, platform providers, launch service providers, and agencies across Europe and beyond.Startup Culture: Join a fast-growing spacetech startup with a young, driven team and a dynamic, hands-on culture.Build strong relationships with international partners such as IMEC, ESA, the European Commission, and industry leaders.
Team Life: Take part in monthly Wacky Fridays with team events, dinners, and team-building activities.
