Procurement Manager / Commercial Procurement Lead – Life Sciences Capital Projects
We are partnering with a leading engineering and project delivery organisation to recruit a Procurement Manager / Commercial Procurement Lead supporting the delivery of major life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
This role will play a key part in managing the commercial procurement strategy across complex capital projects, ensuring robust tendering processes, effective supplier negotiations, and strong supply chain risk management. Procurement represents a significant portion of project spend within EPCM environments, making this a highly visible and commercially impactful role.
You will work closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams to ensure supplier selection, contract awards, and procurement strategies align with project cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead procurement strategy across life sciences capital projects
* Manage tendering processes, including bid evaluation and supplier selection
* Conduct commercial assessments of vendor proposals and provide contract award recommendations
* Lead negotiations to secure competitive commercial and contractual terms
* Manage supplier relationships and support long-term supply chain strategy
* Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks
* Collaborate with engineering and project teams to support project delivery
Experience Required
* Procurement experience within life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments
* Experience supporting capital projects, facility builds, or EPCM/EPC delivery models
* Strong background in tendering, commercial bid evaluation, and supplier negotiations
* Ability to manage complex supplier contracts and procurement risk
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills within cross-functional project teams
