Hospitality Talents, a recruitment agency specializing in hospitality profiles, is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant HR Director (nbr 2) to join our client, a prestigious hotel group in Belgium. You will join a dynamic team and support the HR Director in managing a portfolio of hotels across Belgium. This role, primarily based in Ghent or Antwerp (with flexibility between both locations), is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic HR initiatives, foster a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with Belgian labor laws.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational HR Support
Assist the HR Director in implementing HR strategies for hotels in Belgium.
Provide guidance to hotel management teams on HR matters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Actively participate in recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and retention strategies.
Social Dialogue & Compliance
Act as a liaison for relations with Works Councils, CPBW/CPPT, and union delegates.
Support negotiations and presentations to ensure transparent communication and mutual respect.
Ensure compliance with Belgian labor laws (PC 302 Horeca).
Employee Engagement & Development
Contribute to initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Resolve conflicts professionally, promoting a culture of transparency and trust.
Help design and implement customized training programs to unlock employee potential.
Performance & Rewards Management
Support performance management processes (appraisals, feedback, improvement plans).
Assist in establishing competitive compensation structures aligned with industry standards.
Help manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Bridge Between Local Operations & Global Vision
Serve as a link between the European headquarters and local operations.
Provide regular reports to senior leadership on key successes and opportunities.
Ensure legal and operational compliance (social inspections, audits, regulations).
Requirements
Experience: 2–5 years in HR, ideally in hospitality or multi-site environments.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Belgian labor laws and social dialogue processes.
Skills: Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship management.
Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English (French is a plus).
