As we expand our footprint across Europe, we are expanding our European Data Centre operations Team with a Strategic Buyer who will oversee the sourcing of goods and services, drive cost efficiencies, and reduce OPEX spend. He/she will continuously assess and optimize procurement strategies and plans in line with changing economic conditions. The role can be fulfilled from our HQ in Vilvoorde or one of our offices in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt. More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to: Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical data centre components (e.g. power, cooling, racks, networking, cabling, security systems). • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for data centre infrastructure and services. • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost efficiencies and mitigate supply risks. • Maintain and enhance relationships with key vendors and service providers. Procurement Operations • Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and approvals in accordance with company policies. • Coordinate procurement activities with engineering, construction, and operations teams. Cost & Risk Management • Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities. • Assess supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies for critical components. • Ensure compliance with corporate sustainability, ESG, and ethical sourcing policies. Contract & Policy Compliance • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review and manage contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements. • Ensure adherence to procurement governance, data security, and confidentiality standards. Continuous Improvement • Contribute to process improvements and procurement system optimization. • Stay current on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.… In this role, you report to the Lead DC Operations Europe. Do you recognize yourself? You have a master degree and acquired min. 5 years or relevant experience in procurement within an international environment. You have a strong understanding of cost drivers, total cost of ownership (TCO), and budgeting principles You have excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally. You are a strong communicator and fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset.
