Role Overview
The SAP DRC Technical Consultant is responsible for the design, build, and operational enablement of SAP Document and Reporting Compliance capabilities within SAP ERP and S/4HANA environments. This role provides expert technical configuration, integration, and validation of e-invoicing and statutory reporting solutions to ensure organizations remain compliant with rapidly evolving local and international regulatory mandates. The consultant will collaborate with functional, architecture, and compliance teams to deliver scalable solutions that support multi-country rollouts and continuous regulatory change.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the technical configuration and activation of SAP DRC components, including e-document frameworks, connectivity, and mapping.
* Implement and maintain country-specific e-invoicing and reporting scenarios, ensuring alignment with local tax authority guidelines and legal frameworks.
* Integrate SAP DRC with SAP ECC/S4HANA core processes and external government platforms via IDoc, BTP, APIs, web services, and middleware tools.
* Perform root-cause analysis, traceability checks, and message monitoring to quickly resolve issues in e-document submission and acknowledgements.
* Prepare detailed technical documentation covering configuration, integration logic, error handling, and deployment standards.
* Support all phases of testing (functional, regression, performance) and coordinate defect remediation with cross-functional teams.
* Participate in cutover readiness activities including e-document activation, connectivity validation, and communication channel certification.
* Provide post-go-live support, monitoring compliance operations and ensuring response to regulatory or platform changes.
* Collaborate with functional consultants, business process owners, and compliance specialists to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
* Proactively recommend improvements to enhance automation, stability, and compliance continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of SAP technical consulting experience with direct hands-on SAP DRC/e-document configuration.
* Solid understanding of SAP integration methods: IDoc, RFC, BTP services, APIs, and middleware.
* Practical knowledge of global e-invoicing frameworks, statutory reporting standards, and compliance verification.
* Strong diagnostic capabilities with the ability to analyze message logs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance.
* Effective communicator able to collaborate across technical and functional teams in complex program environments.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Experience delivering multi-country SAP DRC implementations or legal reporting deployments at scale.
* Familiarity with Peppol networks, SAF-T, and other regional e-invoicing standards or tax authority specifications (e.g., SDI, KSeF, Chorus Pro).
* Exposure to SAP BTP services, AIF, PI/PO, or CPI for government platform integration.
* Knowledge of continuous compliance monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
