About the Role
We are looking for a freelance French-speaking copywriter for one of our clients in the public sector. The role involves writing clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate content related to HR, government, and regulatory topics. You’ll also create content tailored for social media platforms, intranet, monthly newsletters, and events, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement across all channels.
Responsibilities
* Write and edit content in French for various formats: internal communications, newsletters, websites, brochures, reports, and policy-related documents
* Create engaging social media content tailored to each platform (LinkedIn for professional tone, Facebook/Instagram for accessible messaging)
* Translate complex or technical topics (e.g., HR policies, public regulations) into understandable and relatable language for non-expert audiences
* Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to gather information and align messaging
* Ensure tone of voice and language fit the target audience
* Adapt and repurpose content for different channels (e.g. turning a report into a series of LinkedIn posts)
* Proofread and fact-check all copy for grammatical, stylistic, and legal accuracy
* Manage multiple deadlines and projects at once, with minimal supervision
Qualifications
* Native French (Belgium) speaker
* Strong portfolio including both long-form content and social media writing
* Skilled in turning complex ideas into accessible and well-structured content
* Good understanding of tone and engagement techniques for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
* Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
* Comfortable using collaboration tools (Google Docs, Microsoft Word, CMS platforms, or planning tools like Trello)
