Freelance Senior Azure Engineer - Long Term - Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join a major enterprise transformation programme focused on cloud adoption, platform modernisation, automation, and DevOps enablement. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising Azure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms, and Infrastructure as Code solutions that support business-critical applications and services.

Working closely with architects, developers, security teams, and programme stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership and drive the adoption of DevOps best practices across large-scale transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-scale Azure cloud platforms.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources.
• Design, build, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to enable automated deployments and continuous delivery.
• Architect and manage Kubernetes environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), to support containerised workloads.
• Drive cloud migration, application modernisation, and platform transformation initiatives.
• Implement security, compliance, and governance controls across cloud and deployment environments.
• Collaborate with solution architects and engineering teams to define cloud and DevOps strategies.
• Champion DevOps culture, automation, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
• Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and operational excellence practices.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and development teams.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and platform optimisation activities.
• Ensure cloud solutions are resilient, scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
