The
DG FISMA IT Sector
is responsible for the development and maintenance of IT systems that support both DG FISMA's policy activities and Commission-wide corporate needs. These solutions are also used by other Directorates-General, positioning DG FISMA as a
key enabler of the Commission's Digital Transformation and EU policies
.
Skills & Knowledge
Required technical skills:
* Strong expertise in Service-Oriented Architectures, REST APIs, and web services.
* Proven hands-on experience with Java (5+ years) and Spring Boot (5+ years).
* Proficiency with Oracle & PL/SQL (5+ years).
* Experience with Git (version control), unit testing, and continuous integration tools (e.g., Bamboo).
* Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
* Experience in DevSecOps environments (3+ years – asset).
* Knowledge of PostgreSQL and integration with AI systems (asset).
Role & Responsibilities
As a
Senior Java Developer
, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical IT solutions for DG FISMA.
Key tasks include:
* Developing and maintaining testing scenarios (new features, non-regression testing).
* Participating in technical working groups, project meetings, and end-user discussions.
* Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
* Supporting analysis, deployment, evaluation, and reporting activities.
* Ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with the Commission's standards and policies.
Education & Qualifications
* Minimum: Level 6 EQF qualification (Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, or related field).
Contract Details
* Project duration: 1100 days
* Initial contract duration: 220 days
* Expected start date: 9/2025
* Service delivery mode: Near-Site (within 2 hs commuting distance of Brussels)
* IT equipment: Provided by the European Commission
