Most venture funds treat portfolio support as fundraising help with a side of warm intros. We don't. By creating this role, GFV seeks to institutionalize portfolio acceleration as a core function: dedicating ourselves to actively meeting our portfolio companies' support requirements across mentorship, subject matter expertise, GTM, and procurement access.
The Role
You will own the European arm of GFV's portfolio acceleration function. Concretely:
* Market access. Open European MoD, prime, and channel doors for portfolio companies. Translate Ukrainian battlefield credibility into NATO/EU member states' procurement traction.
* Scaling support. Work directly with portfolio company leadership on Europe GTM, regulatory pathways (EU dual-use export, NATO certification, national security review), pricing, and senior hiring.
* Pipeline development. Use European market signals (which capability gaps are real, which are political, which are funded) to inform GFV investment selection.
* Ecosystem presence. Represent GFV at European defense forums and build standing in the European defense investor and policy communities.
* Co-investment partnerships. Build durable relationships with European defense-focused funds (private, government, and hybrid) for syndicate construction and follow-on rounds.
* Primary touchpoint for portfolio company leadership. When a founder needs a door opened, a regulatory question answered, or a senior hire sourced, you are the call.
Qualifications
* Significant professional experience in and around European defense procurement, primes, MoDs, NATO infrastructure, or scale-up GTM at a defense or dual-use company.
* Commercially literate with full-cycle experience pitching and closing contracts. Prior P&L responsibility or quota-carrying experience preferred.
* Comfortable in a venture environment. You don't need a corporate process to function. You can write a memo, run a board prep, spot, assess, and develop opportunities for our portfolio companies.
* Currently based in Western Europe and willing to travel ~30% across Europe and to Kyiv.
Now accepting applications through 15 July. Hiring decision will be made in August and the start date is 7 September. First scheduled/required travel to Ukraine is 14–18 September 2026 to meet with the teams you'll support.
