Your mission
As part of the Starting & Raw Material Sciences (S&RMS) group, you will contribute to activities related to cell culture media to support the development and optimization of bioprocesses, technology transfer, and clinical/commercial manufacturing of therapeutic proteins and/or gene therapy products.
You will work collaboratively with scientists specialized in bioprocess and analytical sciences across multiple geographic regions and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and execute cell culture experiments aimed at developing new media formulations
* Implement appropriate technical controls and contribute to industrialization of media solutions
* Support process robustness, cost efficiency, and regulatory submission readiness
* Collaborate in a multidisciplinary and international team environment
Your Profile
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
* Strong laboratory skills, particularly in aseptic techniques
* Experience in recombinant protein or virus production is a plus
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and solve problems analytically
* Flexible, team‑oriented, and committed to meeting deadlines
* Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written) for scientific meetings, documentation, and literature review
The volunteer will be responsible for
* Planning, designing, and conducting studies on media preparation and cell culture in bioreactors or shake flasks
* Analyzing scientific data and presenting findings to the team
* Performing scientific monitoring to identify innovative solutions for improving bioproduction processes
* Actively contributing to laboratory operations (equipment maintenance, good laboratory practices) as well as team life
* Creating and maintaining associated documentation in accordance with pharmaceutical industry requirements (lab notebooks, reports, procedures)
Please note that this program is in partnership with Business France, and we follow the prerequisites required by Business France to carry out a VIE assignment. The main participation prerequisites are as follows:
* Be between 18 and 28 years old;
* Hold the nationality of a member country of the European Economic Area;
* Have not worked or lived in the country where the mission will take place;
* Be available to dedicate yourself to the mission full‑time;
* If you have French nationality or dual nationality, be in compliance with the national service obligations of France (Numéro Identifiant Défense);
* Have a clean criminal record.
If you do not meet all these conditions, we will not be able to consider your application.
