As a software developer in the payments industry you will build secure, scalable systems that process transactions quickly and reliably within a complex payments eco-system. Through your work you will help our clients modernize their payments services and infrastructure in order to gain a competitive edge and to remain compliant in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. You will work in an international environment on large-scale payment change programs.
Responsibilities
· Write clean, maintainable, and testable code for payment processing services.
· Perform code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
· Troubleshoot and debug defects and provide defect fixes
· Write unit tests to ensure a high-quality solution
· Design and implement APIs, MQ or Kafka interfaces to integrate the solution within our clients payments eco-system
· Implement security measures such as encryption, tokenization, or secure key storage.
· Collaborate with product owners, technical architects and business and quality analysts to deliver new features or fixes.
Qualifications & Skills
· Proven experience as a software deliver (minimum 2 years), experience in the payments domain is a plus
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong written and spoken communication skills in English are a must, strong communication skills in French and / or Dutch a plus
· Good interpersonal skills
· Ability to work in and develop strong connections with your project stakeholder environment in a remote and international context
· Proven experience with the following technologies and ways of working:
* A recent version of Java (for example version 21) or Python
* Spring Boot
* Database: Oracle, PostGreSQL or MongoDB
* Kafka, MQ, API's and/or file-transfer communication
* Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
* Splunk
* Micro-service based architecture design
* CI/CD practices for software development
* Grafana (nice to have)
* React-technology for UI development (nice to have)
· Understanding of the wider payment eco-system, payment processing within a bank, and regulations is a plus:
o International payment schemes
o Domestic payment schemes
o Instant payment schemes
o Swift MT & ISO 20022
o Good understanding on how the payments domain interacts with surrounding applications (Fraud, AML, Accounting, Liquidity Management, Channels, etc)
o Working experience with payment vendor solutions (FIS-OPF, Finastra-GPP, ICON-IPF,....)
