Medicines for Europe is looking for a dynamic and proactive Public Affairs Senior Policy Officer to join our team in Brussels. About the Role
As Public Affairs Senior Policy Officer, you will play a central role in advancing Medicines for Europe's advocacy impact at EU level. Reporting to the Deputy Director General and Executive Director, your responsibilities include:
* Monitoring EU policy developments in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and horizontal issues, with a strong focus on the European Parliament, Council and European Commission
* Coordinating Medicines for Europe public affairs working group, ensuring synergy, coherence and effectiveness by drafting agenda, minutes, reports and briefing notes and informing and gathering information from association members on policy matters
* Providing feedback, oral and written, to the association members on the policy issues as appropriate
* Participating in external political/institutional events and reporting internally, to the M‑team as well as to relevant Medicines for Europe working groups and committees
* Contributing to the development of external outreach messages and materials
* Coordinating the preparation for political/institutional meetings (incl. drafting briefing notes and coordinating internal alignment)
* Organising events (sessions / workshops / webinars) including programme development and background notes
* Developing and implementing Medicines for Europe's annual advocacy strategy
* Shaping and implementing Medicines for Europe's institutional outreach advocacy strategy and ensuring our voice is heard where it matters most.
About your Profile
* Professional fluency in English with any other EU language being an asset
* 2-4 years of applied, relevant experience in an EU affairs environment with direct exposure to the EU policy‑making process either within the EU institutions (especially in the European Parliament) or within a trade association, consultancy or a corporate environment
* Experience within a relevant sector (healthcare, trade, sustainability/environmental policy) will be considered an asset
* Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
* Excellent project management skills, with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
* Comfortable in a multicultural environment
* Strategic thinking and creativity to convey complex ideas clearly
* An appropriate university degree (e.g. health, law or political science)
* A valid EU work permit.
