Excellent opportunity to join a global Automotive manufacturer which is experiencing growth in general and also within its Procurement department. The company is looking to hire a new Commodity Manager for the categories of Plastics & Raw Materials.
The role will have a European scope and will involve strategic procurement activities, including sourcing, outsourcing and supplier management. The commodity is undergoing a phase of transformation which makes this project crucial for the department. Thus, they are looking to hire someone who is willing to work with various stakeholders and be involved in serious activities which will have a lot of visibility within the business.
Your activities will include:
Regional Purchasing Strategy
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies for direct materials to enhance supply chain efficiency and ensure successful execution.
* Contribute to the establishment of global purchasing strategies, policies, and process optimizations.
Local Commodity Management
* Maintain a supplier panel for assigned commodities.
* Participate in defining and implementing purchasing panel policies for specific commodities.
* Lead supplier selection based on Group-defined criteria.
* Negotiate legal contracts and support supplier compliance with the Supplier Manual.
Supplier Performance Management
* Regularly monitor supplier performance in collaboration with SQE, Operations, R&D, and Purchasing Project teams.
* Ensure consistent follow-up on commercial performance of suppliers.
* Implement corrective actions when supplier performance deviates from targets.
* Act as the first escalation point for internal functions regarding supplier issues.
* Define and execute supplier optimization plans.
Supplier and Market Intelligence
* Create and maintain up-to-date supplier profiles.
* Conduct market searches to identify potential suppliers aligned with business trends, panel requirements, and cost models.
* Propose shortlists of suppliers for RFQ to assess competitiveness of both new and current suppliers.
Risk Management
* Monitor supplier risk indicators on a regular basis.
* Oversee global supplier capacity and tooling warranty.
* Maintain a red list of at-risk suppliers.
* Develop and implement action plans to mitigate or eliminate identified risks.
Your profile:
* Around 5 years of experience in a Procurement function within the Automotive (preferred), Aerospace, Rail or other Transportation-related manufacturing industry.
* Experience in activities related to sourcing, outsourcing, and supplier management.
* University Degree.
* Fluent English language skills.
* Personal qualities: initiative, accountable, team player, critical thinking, transparent and ethical, communication skills and ability to interface with senior counterparts.
* EU passport / Belgian residency.
