About CEB-BEC. The Belgian Electrotechnical Committee (CEB-BEC) is Belgium’s national focal point for electrotechnical standards. As Belgium’s representative within the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization), we ensure that businesses, government, research institutes, and societal stakeholders have a seat at the table when international agreements are made. Standards are more than technical rules: they define compatibility, quality, safety, and sustainability. They are essential for accelerating innovation and ensuring safety. From our offices in the heart of Brussels, we coordinate more than 100 technical committees working on tomorrow’s technologies – from energy storage and smart grids to cybersecurity. Your role. As Coordinator Technical Committees – Standardization & Innovation, you are the connecting link between industry, policy, and experts. You will manage the full lifecycle of standard development – from the first idea to international alignment – ensuring that all steps are clear, efficient, and consensus-driven. Your responsibilities include: Coordinating Belgian technical committees and ensuring smooth operations. Organising and facilitating meetings and preparatory sessions for European and international committees. Gathering and structuring expert input, and translating it into clear documents and decisions. Finding solutions to opposing viewpoints and bringing stakeholders together. Representing Belgium in international bodies and promoting our vision. Engaging new stakeholders through workshops, conferences, and collaborations with universities. You will work closely with fellow officers and committee chairs. This is a varied role requiring both technical affinity and strong communication skills. Who you are. You don’t need to be a seasoned engineer – a strong interest in technology and the ability to quickly grasp complex topics are just as important. You bring: A Master’s degree in a scientific or technical field, or equivalent experience. Excellent command of English (working language) and good knowledge of Dutch and French. Strong writing skills and an eye for clear reporting. Organisational talent and the ability to work independently. Proficiency with digital tools and online collaboration platforms. Social skills to connect people and facilitate constructive discussions. What we offer. A content-driven role with real impact, where you contribute to innovative technologies and work alongside leading experts every day. We offer: A competitive salary package with benefits. Meal vouchers (€8/day), hospitalisation insurance, group insurance/pension plan, eco vouchers, home office allowance, and representation costs. 20 statutory leave days additional leave (ADV) collective closure between Christmas and New Year. An office within walking distance of public transport, with flexible home working after your onboarding period. Onboarding & growth. During your first six months, you will be regularly on-site to get to know your colleagues, processes, and network. We provide internal guidance, documentation, and training so you can quickly settle into your role. After that, you will have flexible home working possibilities and the opportunity to grow into international working groups or broader project roles. Application process.
