Responsibilities
We are looking for energetic professional to join the Generation Engineering Department of our Generation Business Group. Reporting to the Team Leader of Fire Services Team and Branch Manager of Technical Services Branch, the appointee will be responsible for providing high quality fire installation services including inspection, maintenance, technical advices, etc in our power stations. Major duties include:
Plan and supervise subordinates and contractors, and be accountable for the Safe and Quality execution of works at power stations fire services workshops and installation services;
Manage and direct a multi-disciplinary workforce to develop and implement engineering practices and to deliver reliable quality services to our generation plants to ensure that optimum level of reliability, efficiency, cost effectiveness, safety, health and environmental standards are met;
Plan, Establish and implement the annual program on maintenance, inspection and testing of all fire fighting systems;
Assist in carrying out testing and inspection on the Class 1 & 2 fixed fire services installation and equipment, and inspection, testing and maintenance on Class 3 portable fire-fighting equipment;
Assist in co-ordination of issuing the Certificate of Maintenance (FS251) and submit to the Fire Services Department timely as required by law;
Prepare project plans and budgets, monitor capital, operating and manpower expenses to meet performance targets of those assets under his /her responsibility;
Support the development of contracting strategies to ensure a close partnership with quality contractors;
Liaise with the manufacturers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance requirements and procedures meet the company business needs and statutory requirements;
Review engineering and control document, prepare new engineering / maintenance / repair instructions for workshop activities and services;
Maintain and administer the fire services workshop. Recommend changes in work processes and shop operation with best practices and innovative ideas / technologies for continuous improvement of workshop activities and fire installation services;
Liaise and communicate with relevant government departments on fire services matters.
Requirements
An University Degree in relevant engineering discipline, plus at least 5 years' working experience;
Solid experience in fire fighting system and knowledge in fire services legislation;
Candidate possessing the qualification of qualified Plumber / Class 3 Fire Services Installation Contractor / a recognized first-aider would be an advantage;
Exposures to power plant environment would be an advantage but not essential;
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Candidate with lower qualification but having extensive experience will also be considered.
