As an expert in international Dry Bulk Shipping (Ultramax – Capesize) we are seeking a
Senior Chartering Manager to take full commercial responsibility for fleet deployment and chartering.
He/she will build long-term client relationships, optimize costs, and serve as the key interface between Shipowner and Charterers.
Position will require the person to work in both the Rotterdam and Monaco offices.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy:
* Define and implement the Charter policy with the Owner, expand the Charterer portfolio, monitoring its performance proactively to maintain positive commercial momentum.
Negotiation:
* Negotiate chartering contracts, optimize shipping routes, and ensure smooth coordination between Shipowner and clients.
Operational Oversight:
* Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, manage disputes, and guarantee client satisfaction.
* Consult with the Technical Director in advance to coordinate and optimize vessel operations.
Skills & Profile
Expertise:
* 10+ years senior commercial experience in dry bulk shipping
* Strong Capesize and/or Ultramax track record
* Established network with charterers, traders, and brokers
* Independent, decisive, and commercially disciplined
* In-depth knowledge of international transport, maritime law.
Qualities:
* Proactive, strong negotiation skills, leadership, and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Good team spirit
Education:
* Business school degree or master's specialized in maritime transport/logistics.
Location:
* Based in Monaco or Rotterdam (office-based Sales role).
* With occasional travel to the other office.
