We are currently supporting a key client in the energy/infrastructure sector in their search for a Freelance Electrical Engineer with strong experience in power distribution and Caneco calculations.

This is a contract opportunity for an experienced engineer who can take ownership of electrical design and calculations across complex industrial projects.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for the design and validation of LV/HV electrical distribution systems, with a strong focus on performing accurate load flow, short-circuit, and cable sizing calculations using Caneco. You'll work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards and deliver robust, optimised designs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform electrical calculations using Caneco (load flow, short-circuit, cable sizing, selectivity)
• Design and optimise LV/MV power distribution systems
• Produce and review electrical schematics and technical documentation (EPLAN/AutoCAD beneficial)
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. AREI/IEC)
• Support project teams with technical expertise across design and execution phases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on industrial/infrastructure projects
Requirements:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within power distribution
• Strong hands-on experience with Caneco calculations (essential)
• Experience working on industrial environments xphnsxz (e.g. energy, petrochemical, manufacturing)
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards (AREI/IEC)
• Experience with tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD is a plus
• Fluent in English (Dutch or French is advantageous depending on project)
