Job description
The Piping Design & Engineering group is a dynamic team that combines engineering, design, and leadership skills to effectively support our clients. Success in this role requires a solid educational background in engineering and/or design, along with strong personal competencies. Being a team player and able to interact effectively with our client's organization and other disciplines within our taskforce is essential.
In these projects, the piping design team is responsible for routing pipe systems and the complete layout of the plant, including equipment locations and new structures or platforms. They work within a task force to realize multi-discipline projects, collaborating closely with vendors and clients to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
1. Perform design development across various project phases, such as conceptual design, front-end design, detail engineering, and plant commissioning, for both revamp projects and smaller grass-root projects.
2. Contribute to Basic Engineering Design Packages and prepare scope of work documents for contractors.
3. Supervise, plan, and organize work:
* Lead and coordinate a piping design team; assign tasks, monitor progress, and manage work.
* Prepare schedules, estimates, manpower forecasts, and manage change risks.
* Communicate and align with clients, vendors, and other disciplines.
* Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate designers.
1. Promote value improvement initiatives and continuous performance improvement.
2. Interpret, set up, and mark up P&ID diagrams and line designation lists.
3. Participate in design reviews within the project team.
4. Work independently and lead small teams.
5. Possess practical knowledge of field installations.
6. Ensure quality and technical integrity of design documents.
7. Proactively report project status and constraints to project management and department heads.
