Project Planning Manager for Technical EPC Projects – FR/EN – Dilbeek EU site travel Location : Office in Grand-Bigard, home office possible, with occasional travel (minimum 2 days per week) to sites in France or internationally. Your new company Hays is currently looking for a new Planning Manager for one of our clients specialized in the design and construction of Waste-to-Energy units. As part of the development of these projects, the Planning Manager is responsible for creating, steering and updating the overall project schedule across all phases: studies, procurement, construction and commissioning. Reporting to the COO and Project Manager, this person provides a consolidated overview that ensures deadlines are controlled, deviations are anticipated, and the project management team is supported in decision-making. Your new role Planning & Coordination • Develop and maintain master schedules (level 1 to level 4) for studies, engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning. • Define key milestones, critical paths and float. • Consolidate schedules from the different work packages (process, building, civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, C&I…). • Ensure consistency between engineering planning and construction planning. Steering & Control • Monitor actual progress versus the contractual schedule.• Identify deviations, analyze delays and propose corrective actions. • Maintain progress dashboards and deadline-related KPIs. • Prepare and present schedule reports during internal and external meetings. Documentation & Contractual Management • Produce and update planning documents: master's schedule, S-curves, workload histograms. • Contribute to the planning-related elements in contracts and amendments. • Verify compliance with contractual obligations regarding deadlines. Interface & Communication • Interact with engineering, procurement and construction teams, as well as subcontractors. • Coordinate the collection of information from technical departments and partner companies. • Alert the Project Manager about schedule risks and potential impacts on the project. Tools & Methods • Use planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. • Implement best practices in WBS structuring, coding and reporting. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning methods within the company. Your profile • Technical background in electromechanics, mechanics or similar. • 5 to 15 years of experience in planning industrial projects (energy, process, environment, Oil & Gas, EPC…). • Knowledge of complex industrial projects: energy, thermal, environment, EPC, process. Any experience with Waste-to-Energy (WtE) projects is highly appreciated. • Understanding of engineering phases, procurement cycles and construction methods. • Experience in a multi-package and multi-stakeholder environment. • Excellent communication and summarizing skills. • Rigor, analytical mindset, proactivity and anticipation skills. • Strong command of French and English required (minimum B2 in both languages, with technical vocabulary appreciated). • Excellent command of planning software (Primavera P6 or MS Project is mandatory). • Ability to analyse logic sequences, critical paths and multi-package impacts. • Ability to produce S-curves, workload histograms and structured reporting. • Strong understanding of schedule risk management (methodology and quantification). • Willingness to travel at least 2 days per week to sites in France or the EU. What the company offers Our client offers a permanent contract with a salary package depending on experience, along with attractive benefits such as a company car and insurance.
